I think of my paintings as dramas; the shapes in the images are the actors. They arise from the need for a group of actors capable of moving dramatically without embarrassment and performing gestures without shame. Neither the action nor the actors can be anticipated or described. They begin an unknown adventure in an unknown space... Ideas and plans that existed in the mind at the beginning were simply the door through which one left the world in which they occur.
